For owners and ops managers

Know what happened in your business before you open the door.

ITS4 Insight reads your own point of sale and ERP data, your mail and your calendar, answers questions in plain English, and writes up each morning's findings. When something needs doing, it drafts the work. You approve it.

Works with NCR Counterpoint, your SQL database, Microsoft 365 mail and calendar, and MCP.

Insight Day · Daybreak

Your morning, written up before you wake.

Yesterday's numbers, today's calendar with context, and the few decisions that matter, each one a tap away. You start the day deciding, not digging.

  • Written for you, at the hour you choose
  • Every figure links back to the query behind it
  • Reply to the email and Insight keeps going

Daybreak is in early access. See below.

Approvals

It drafts the work. You decide.

When Insight spots something worth acting on, it prepares the change in your ERP and puts it in front of a person. Nothing is written until someone approves it.

  • Read-only by default
  • Every ERP write waits in your Approvals queue
  • Edit the draft before you approve, or decline it
A day with Insight

From the first coffee to closing time.

An illustrative day for a retail owner. Some of these steps are in early access; the Ask, findings, drafts and approvals are available today.

  1. The brief is waiting

Yesterday's sales, three findings, two decisions. You read it with coffee.

  2. Before the vendor call

You ask which open POs have a confirmation that differs from the order. The answer arrives with the lines in question.

  3. A shipment lands

Insight drafts the receiver. You check the quantity and approve.

  4. A customer walks in

A one-screen dossier: what they buy, what is open, what you promised last time.

  5. You hand something off

"Chase the vendor on the late order." Insight drafts each email for your approval and keeps track.

  6. Close with nothing loose

One list of what is promised and what is open, in both directions, so tomorrow starts clean.

Without it

  • Open Counterpoint, build a report, export it
  • Wait for whoever knows the queries
  • Find the below-cost items at month end
  • Re-key the receiver by hand

With ITS4 Insight

  • Ask in plain English, see the SQL behind it
  • Findings are written up before you ask
  • Problems are flagged when they appear
  • Changes are drafted, then approved by you
Who it is for

Built for retailers and distributors who run on one system and a few spreadsheets.

Retail

Counterpoint retailers

Garden centers, shoe stores, bottle shops. Insight starts from a pre-built Counterpoint schema pack.

  • What sold below cost this week?
  • Which vendors are late on open POs?
Wholesale

Distributors

Orders, purchasing and receiving in one conversation, with confirmations checked against what you ordered.

  • Which confirmations differ from the PO?
  • What is on backorder for my top 10 customers?
How it connects

It runs next to your system, on your network.

  1. 01Install the connectorA small Windows connector goes on a machine inside your network. It connects outbound only, so there are no inbound firewall rules.
  2. 02It learns your schemaTable and column names become a model of your database. Known Counterpoint schemas start from a pack.
  3. 03Read-only by defaultQueries run locally and return only the results each one asked for.
  4. 04Writes need approvalAn on-prem companion handles ERP write-backs, and only after a person approves.
Integrations

Connects to the tools you already use.

Three ways in, each with the same rule: Insight reads first, and anything that changes something waits for a person.

On-site connector

Your database, from inside your network

For NCR Counterpoint and other SQL databases. The connector opens an outbound connection, runs each query locally, and is read-only by default.

Example: "Which items sold below cost this week?" runs on your own server and returns only that answer's rows.

Cloud apps, with your own account

Connect mail and calendar by signing in to the app, with no software to install. Each person connects their own account.

Example: Daybreak reads your unread Outlook mail and today's calendar, then drafts replies for you to review.

MCP, both ways

Open standard, in and out

Insight is an MCP server, so AI assistants can query your data. It can also use tools from other MCP servers you register.

Example: from Claude Desktop, ask "what did we sell last week?" and get the answer from your own data.

Security and trust

Your data stays yours.

  • No inbound access

Insight never connects into your network. The connector reaches out, runs each query locally, and returns only the results that query asked for.

  • Isolated by workspace

Every workspace is separated with row-level security, so one customer's data is never visible to another.

  • Not used to train models

Your data and conversations are not used to train AI models.

  • Your approval on every ERP change

Changes Insight drafts for your ERP wait until a person signs off. Reports and alerts you schedule are sent automatically.

  • What leaves your network

Table and column names, to model your schema, and the results of the queries you run. Those results go to the AI model that writes the answer and are saved with your conversation.

  • Every answer shows its work

The exact SQL and the reasoning behind each answer are one click away.

Early access

Insight Day: Insight that reaches you.

Insight Day moves the work from the app to wherever you already are. We turn it on workspace by workspace and tune it with the people using it. It is not part of the standard plan yet, and some pieces are still in testing.

Daybreak

Early access

A personal morning brief: yesterday's numbers, today's calendar with context, and up to three decisions you can make in one tap.

Text Insight

Early access

Reply to anything Insight sends and it continues in context. Telegram first, with text messages following.

Walk-in dossier

Early access

A one-screen brief before a customer or vendor meeting, built from your ERP, email history and past notes.

Promise ledger

Early access

One list of commitments in both directions, with nudges before they slip.

Hand it off

Early access

Hand a follow-up to Insight and it drafts each email for your approval, then tracks the reply.

Shift handoff and inbox triage

In testing

Notes that carry from one shift to the next, and mail sorted by what you owe and what is owed to you.

Questions

Plain answers.

What does Insight connect to?

Your SQL database, including NCR Counterpoint, through an on-site connector. Microsoft 365 mail and calendar by signing in. Slack and Microsoft Teams for posts. Documents you upload. And other tools through MCP. Google Workspace and Telegram are in early access.

What is MCP, and why does it matter?

The Model Context Protocol is an open standard for connecting AI assistants to tools. Insight works both ways: assistants like Claude can query your data through Insight, and you can register other MCP servers so Insight can use their tools. Changes still wait for approval.

Do I need to change how I use Counterpoint?

No. Insight runs beside it. Your team keeps working in Counterpoint, and Insight reads the same database through the connector.

Can Insight change my data on its own?

No. It is read-only by default. When it drafts an ERP change, the change waits in your Approvals queue until a person signs off. Reports and alerts you schedule are sent automatically.

Is my data used to train AI models?

No.

What leaves my network?

Table and column names, to model your schema, and the results of the queries you run. Those results go to the AI model that writes the answer and are saved with your conversation.

How long does setup take?

The connector installs on a Windows machine on your network in about five minutes, with no inbound firewall rules. Every plan starts with a 14-day trial.

What is Insight Day, and can I have it?

It is the proactive layer: the morning brief, texting Insight, the walk-in dossier and the promise ledger. It is in early access and turned on workspace by workspace. Book a demo and ask.
